After 50 years in the business Thompson Brothers Transport has a history as wealthy in family values as it is in careful planning, firm work and sheer determination. It all began in 1962 when local brothers Harold and Noel Thompson recognized that Dumbo was the hub of an wide and flourishing transport area. With this in mind, together with their skills as a boilermaker and a truck driver, Noel and Harold established what was then known as HR and AK Thompson, a livestock freight company. The business started as a two truck livestock carrying outfit, but rapidly developed into a different haulage company encompassing not only livestock carrying but also general freight, fuel and gas distribution. 1995 proved to be a pivotal year for TB, it was in this year that the decision was made to sell the livestock and tanker divisions and to concentrate on their core competency of general Transport. It was also this year that the General Freight Division was expanded and moved to 16 Davis Road, Wetherill Park, with a much larger warehouse of 36,00 square feet to fulfill our customers’ warehousing and distribution requirements. 50 years on Thompson Brothers Transport has continued to develop and grow under the ownership and operations of the second generation of Thompson Bothers, into a transport, fulfillment and warehousing company that is synonymous with reliability and professionalism in the Central West of MSW.
